Terms of Service

By downloading, installing, or using Ethos - Daily Motivation & Wisdom ("Ethos", "the App", "we", "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the App. These terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Soumya Banerjee, the developer of Ethos.

Ethos is a mobile application that provides curated motivational and inspirational quotes for personal reflection and daily inspiration. The App offers:

• A free tier with access to basic features and quotes
• Premium subscription options for enhanced features
• Core reading and journaling work on your device; Apple handles purchases and its platform services

You must be at least 13 years of age to use Ethos. By using the App, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement. If you are under 18, you represent that you have your parent's or guardian's permission to use the App. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

You agree to use Ethos only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to:

• Copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works of the App
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code
• Use the App for any commercial purpose without written permission
• Use automated systems, bots, or scripts to access the App
• Attempt to circumvent any security features or subscription mechanisms

Quotes: The quotes displayed in Ethos are attributed to their original authors where known. These quotes are curated from public domain sources or are properly attributed. The quotes themselves remain the intellectual property of their respective authors or are in the public domain.

App Design: The visual design, user interface, typography, themes, animations, icons, and overall presentation of Ethos are the exclusive property of Soumya Banerjee and are protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.

You may share quotes using the App's built-in sharing features for personal, non-commercial use only.

Ethos offers premium features through the following subscription options:

• Monthly: a subscription billed monthly at the price shown in the app
• Annual: a subscription billed annually at the price shown in the app
• Lifetime: a one-time purchase at the price shown in the app

All payments are processed through the Apple App Store. By making a purchase, you also agree to Apple's Terms of Service and payment terms. Prices may vary by region and are subject to change.

An eligible subscription may offer a free trial. Apple determines eligibility; the duration and renewal price are shown in the app before you confirm. During an active trial, you have access to Premium features.

• To avoid renewal, cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends
• If you do not cancel, your subscription will automatically begin and you will be charged
• Trial eligibility is determined by Apple and your subscription history

You may cancel your subscription at any time through your Apple ID account settings:

• Go to Settings → Your Name → Subscriptions on your iOS device
• Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period
• You retain access to premium features until the period ends

Refunds are handled exclusively by Apple according to their refund policies. To request a refund, visit reportaproblem.apple.com.

The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

Important: The quotes and content in Ethos are for inspirational and motivational purposes only. They do not constitute and should not be considered as:

• Professional medical, psychological, or mental health advice
• Financial, legal, or professional advice of any kind
• A substitute for professional consultation or treatment

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Soumya Banerjee and Ethos shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or goodwill, resulting from your access to or use of, or inability to access or use, the App. In no event shall our total liability exceed the amount you paid for the App in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting on our website or in the App. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when the Terms were last revised. Your continued use of Ethos after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms. We encourage you to review these Terms periodically.

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Switzerland, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Switzerland.
